The Spring Renegade Woodcarvers Roundup - March 17 -21, 2025 (Lebanon, TN). It is a five-day event held in the Veterans building at Fiddlers Grove, Lebanon, TN. For more information and registration forms, click here.
Showcase of Woodcarvings -- April 4 - 6, 2025 (Charlotte, NC). This is the largest woodcarving show in the southeast. For more information, click here.
The North Arkansas Woodcarvers' 43rd Woodcarving Show and Sale -- May 3 - 4, 2025 (Home, AR). There are over 50 competitive categories to enter your woodcarvings and you can rent a table for $35 to sell your carvings. Click here for more information.
Central Indiana Woodcarvers Roundup -- June 5 - 7, 2025 (Clayton, IN) -- It is held at Martha's Orchard in Clayton, IN which is about 20 minutes east of Indianapolis and about a five hour drive from Lebanon, TN. The roundup is held indoors in an air conditioned environment. There are several instructors and you can choose any of them -- just show up and sit at their table. The registration fee is $15 for the three day event (which is dirt cheap!) and you can come and go as you please. Click here for more information.
The Doane Experience -- May 31st - June 5th, 2025. (Crete, NE). This is a five-day workshop with a variety of instructors to choose from. Click here for complete information.
International Woodcarver's Congress -- June 9 - 14, 2025 (Maquoketa, IA) This event is a woodcarving show with a variety of workshops (the workshops are Jun 9 - 13). It will be held at the Jackson County Fairgrounds, Maquoketa, IA. Click here for more information.
Southeastern Woodcarving School Summer Session-- July 17-19, 2025 (Wetumpka, AL) This event is a three-day workshop and show with a variety of instructors to choose from. For the brochure click here.
Buckeye Woodcarvers Roundup -- July 16-19, 2025 (Fletcher OH). It is held at the Poor Farmers Campground -- you can either camp there or stay in a hotel. The registration fee is $20 (which is dirt cheap!) and you can come and go as you please. It is held in an open-air but covered building and they typically have about a dozen instructors. Fletcher is about 40 minutes north of Dayton. OH (about 6 hours from Lebanon, TN). Click here for complete information.
Northeast Woodcarvers Roundup -- July 20 - 24, 2025 (Honesdale, PA). Features a wide variety of carving styles at a campground similiar to the Buckeye Woodcarvers Roundup. There is no registration fee so the only cost is for blanks and lodging. Honesdale is about 45 minutes northeast of Scranton -- near the Pennsylvania and New York state line. Jeff Phares Human Bust Carving Class -- August 22 - 24, 2025 (Leipers Fork, TN) -- Cost: $365 plus shared cost of instructor's travel expenses plus the cost of the blank. Be prepared to pay your share of the instructor's travel costs on the first day. Students may carve any subject they want as long as it is human. Mallet tools are preferable. Maximum number of students – 10, minimum -- 7. John Engler Relief Carving Workshop -- December 12-15 2025 -- (Leipers Fork, TN) December 12 - 14, 2025 for carving and an optional day (December 15) for painting (Leipers Fork, TN). The cost is $225 for the first three days plus $75 for the optional painting day plus the cost of the blank. You can sign up for all 4 days (3-day carving + 1-day painting -- $300) OR for just 3 days (carving only no painting -- $225). This is a medium relief carving class. John has a large selection of blanks for you to choose from but you can also use your own picture that John will draw up for you. Should you decide to have John draw up a personal project for you, you will need to contact John at least 30 days prior to the class to work out the details. Woodcarving Schools
Geisler-Moroder Woodcarving School -- Elbigenalp, Austria. This woodcarving school is highly recommended by every carver who has attended. Their packages include: 1 or 2 week courses of instruction with both hands-on and theoretical instruction, tools and equipment for carving are provided for your use -- no need to bring your own tools, and full room and board included in the price. They have two weeks each year, typically in May, where all courses are taught in English.
